Welcome to Art by Cheryl. My main body of work consists of abstract wood art created using materials such as bark and leather along with beading to create intricately detailed artwork against an acrylic painted canvas backdrop. My inspiration comes mainly from the countryside around my home, in particular the changing colours of the seasons and the effects of the weather.
Another aspect of my work takes inspiration from the sea, using netting and needlework to embellish abstract oil and acrylic sea scenes.
Similar colour schemes run throughout my art but each piece is created individually and they are all one of a kind originals.
